Stripped back to basics, but still 100% Gibson, the Melody Maker is designed to be a (comparatively) low cost Gibson, but in stripping back the guitar, Gibson have created an instrument which has taken a unique life of it's own. The hand built but simple setup, one pickup and one volume pot, gives the Melody Maker SG an irresistible rock simplicity and in stock setup, it has an incredible, clear tone, a fantastic old fashioned rocker. But musicians have quickly set to modding it, with extra pickups, controls, and paint jobs. This example is in truly excellent condition, it is stock save for the addition of a profiled tailpiece, which is designed to keep tune better than the smooth original. The finish has a few very light bumps, but this is to be expected, as the finish is designed to be 'Reliced' and customized. This is one guitar which has been looked after and only used at home, everything performs as it should and nothing needs attention. The Melody maker is all Gibson, it is hand made in the USA and features a glued, set in head, Gibson deluxe tuners and just that extra bit of soul which comes with a true Gibson. And this one can be yours at a price little more than an Epiphone, I love the Epis, but there really is no mistaking the difference in a true Gibson, This one was made in Nashville over a period of three to four weeks, finished on 25th July 2011, the 97th Instrument completed that day.
